Automated Trading Disclosure
Last Updated: March 2025
READ BEFORE ENABLING AUTOMATION
Trade Manager may permit you to configure and operate automated strategies, rules, alerts, webhooks, routing logic, trade copying, account actions, and related automated workflows (collectively, "Automation"). Before enabling any Automation, read this disclosure carefully.
Automation Amplifies Risk
Automated systems can execute at speeds and frequencies that make manual intervention difficult or impossible. A single logic error, misconfiguration, or unexpected market condition can result in a large number of unintended orders within seconds. Automation can dramatically amplify both gains and losses compared to manual trading.
Specific Automated Trading Risks
- Logic defects, code errors, or configuration mistakes in strategies, webhooks, or routing rules
- Unintended orders, repeated orders, duplicate fills, or failure to execute exit orders
- Stale state: automation acting on outdated data or a position state that no longer reflects reality
- Delayed triggers, failed webhook deliveries, dropped messages, or out-of-sequence processing
- Latency-induced slippage: orders sent faster than the broker can process under peak conditions
- API disconnections, credential expiration, rate-limit rejections, or broker system outages
- Exchange rejects, partial fills, position mismatches, and reconciliation errors between Trade Manager and broker
- Cloud provider, device, browser, internet, and infrastructure failures during live automation
- Runaway automation: exponential loss from looping logic or self-reinforcing signal errors
Trade Manager's Limitations
Trade Manager does not guarantee that Automation will function as intended, remain continuously available, comply with broker or prop-firm rules, or produce results consistent with any hypothetical, backtested, or simulated outcomes. Automation features are provided on an "AS IS" basis.
Trade Manager is not responsible for losses arising from automation failures, misconfiguration, webhook delivery issues, broker-side errors, latency, volatility spikes, runaway logic, or any other technology-related failure.
Your Obligations When Using Automation
Required Actions Before and During Live Automation
- Test all automation in a simulated or paper trading environment before live deployment
- Start with minimum contract sizes and monitor closely before scaling
- Maintain kill-switch procedures — know how to immediately halt all automation at your broker level if needed, independently of the Trade Manager platform
- Monitor positions, account balances, and system status at all times during live automation
- Verify that automation is not violating prop-firm rules, position limits, or margin requirements
- Disable automation immediately upon any unexpected behavior, error, or account issue
- Maintain independent broker access at all times so you can intervene without depending on the Platform
Webhook and Signal-Based Automation
If you use webhook-based automation (e.g., TradingView alerts, custom scripts, or third-party signal services), you accept additional risks including:
- Signal source errors, false signals, or delayed signal delivery
- Webhook endpoint exposure or unauthorized access if credentials are compromised
- Misconfigured alert conditions that trigger unintended orders
- Signal flooding: receiving more signals than expected and generating excessive orders
Trade Manager is not responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any third-party signal source used with the Platform.
Prop Firm Automation Risks
If you use automation features in connection with prop trading evaluation accounts, you accept that:
- Automated strategies may violate prop firm rules regarding drawdown, position size, trading hours, or consistency
- Trade Manager does not monitor prop firm rule compliance and is not responsible for account failures
- It is your sole responsibility to verify that your automation complies with current prop firm requirements
By enabling automation features on Trade Manager, you confirm that you have read and understand this disclosure, that you accept all risks associated with automated trading, and that you assume full responsibility for all automated activity executed on your accounts through or in connection with the Platform.
